Lucy and Rob's Nettlestead Place Wedding

LUCY & ROB’S AMAZING RAINY WEDDING

It’s August Bank Holiday Sunday and it rains all day. From 9am-8pm. Brutal. It also had absolutely no impact on the amount of fun we had. Lucy and Rob have amazing families and a quality group of friends. I’ve not seen anything quite like their evening party at a wedding before, serious dedication to the dance floor madness. More on that later.

Lucy and her tribe of Bridesmaids spent the morning darting between the bridal suite and the marquee. The groomsmen also spent a lot of their morning helping prepare the marquee for when everyone arrived. Lucy and Rob (but probably a little bit more Lucy) styled the marquee impeccably. Four huge tables provided a slightly more informal feel to dinner yet the food and the table arrangements made it super elegant. After Skye blew the bottle of fizz in the bridal suite and by the time morning bridal preparations came to a close the guests were all mingling in the ceremony room. If the weather was better they were intending on an outdoor ceremony but there was no way today with all the rain.

All the wine on the tables had been shipped over from France via Lucy’s dad and with him he also brought masses of dried lavender and flowers which were used as a Confetti ‘pick n mix’. Great idea! We headed over to the marquee for drinks, amazing canapes and a bit of fun before dinner and the speeches (Rob was grilled by his best man). Lucy, Rob and I took a little walk around the grounds with an umbrella because it had to be done, even in the rain this place looks amazing.

The evening started off fairly civilised. Then rather quickly turned into a dance floor of utter mayhem. I loved it and the band were amazing. Ties on heads is one thing, taking clothes off is one step further, and that’s exactly what happened. It’s difficult to describe how hard these guys partied, it’s best if you just look at the photos.

My Favourite Bits: Confetti ‘Pick n mix,’ rainy portraits, Rob’s Breitling, the umbrella that nearly got away, FOB getting attacked and lifted up by the bridesmaids, dance floor nakedness and shoulder rides.

Enjoy!
