Kirsty & John at Stapleford Park

Stapleford Park is a luxury wedding venue situated in the heart of the English countryside near the town of Melton Mowbray. Kirsty and John spent the night at the venue the evening before the wedding day, which is a great idea because the wedding morning is really relaxed. I met Kirsty in the morning, she was chilling with her girls in the cottages off the side of the main house. It was a stunning day in mid September, perfect weather all day, exactly the kind you’d want for your wedding day.

The civil ceremony was held in the beautiful circular orangery overlooking the lawn and was followed with a mass of rose petal confetti, games on the lawn (pétanque, massive chess and crouquet), an awesome ten minute couple shoot, a bit more silliness then into the Grand Hall for dinner.

I’m a huge fan of the evenings at weddings, I love to capture the party, high energy photos from the dance floor, silly moments in the bar, whatever it is, it’s arguably my favourite part of the day, and Kirsty and John’s party did not disappoint! The Dukes Band were incredible, slightly less traditional than the average wedding band, these guys were 100% rock. I mean, the songs they played might not have been written as rock songs, but their sound was definitely rock. They were awesome - check them out if you want a serious evening party.

The last thing we did was take 2 minutes on the lawn as the moon rose above the roof of Stapleford Park to get a couple of late night portraits. Brilliant day! Congratulations Kirsty and John.
