Elly & Colin having the time of their lives
What a belter! We haven't seen weather like this for ages, and I have to say, it's very welcome! Keythorpe Manor is a stunning venue, and the views are incredible overlooking the Oakham countryside. Elly spent the morning with her daughter, sisters, mum and best mate in Keythorpe's very own bridal cottage, a lovely little property next to the manor house, perfect for morning bridal prep and also for staying on the night of the wedding. Of course there were a few bubbles in the morning to accompany the hair straighteners. Makeup was by the very talented Rochelle O'Brien and flowers were from The Flower Basin in Melton.
The morning, although quite calm seemed to fly by. Colin arrived with the boys and I popped out to see them while Elly and the girls put on their dresses. A little moment between Elly and her dad and a couple of very excitable photographs before heading out of the cottage to the converted barn to marry Colin!
The ceremony was amazing, lots of laughing from E & C, both of them very excited, possibly a little bit nervous too... Their daughter wanted to get in on the action too and held Elly's hand through her vows which was cute. A wonderful first kiss and tonnes of confetti before darting off to the bouncy castle (as you do) for their first bounce as husband and wife. This got a little out of hand and all three of them, Elly, Colin and their Daughter ended up down the slide. Highly entertaining.
Everyone spent the afternoon outside on the lawn and on the veranda, soaking up the sun, enjoying some drinks and some amazing canapes. We took a selection of group shots and some lovely photographs of Elly & Colin before heading back over to the incredibly styled marquee for dinner and speeches. Elly loves cherry blossom, and there was no shortage on the day. Keythorpe had a number of Cherries in full blossom and the inside of the marquee was decorated with even more. I always say the speeches are my favourite part, I mean the ceremony is amazing, but there's something about watching the groom getting a light grilling from his new father in law and best man that I just love. This was no exception, Colin spent a fair amount of the speeches with his head in his hands (well played father in law!) and he even received an intendedly insulting Hull City footie shirt. Unlucky Colin!
The party in the evening kicked off with a dirty dancing BANG. Their first dance to "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" which was brilliant and a cake cutting which left Colin rather surprised after Elly out of nowhere force fed him some cake. Just after twilight there was an insane display of fireworks before everyone continued the dancing. Amazing day, loved every minute! Congratulations Elly & Colin
