Ronnie & Emma say i do!
Emma & Ronnie spent their morning getting ready at the De Vere Staverton Estate Hotel in Staverton, nr Daventry. I arrived around 10am to Emma enjoying the morning with her sisters and bridesmaids. Emma didn't seem nervous, in fact quite the opposite, rock solid, very excited! We had a couple of hours of hair, makeup, bubbles and banter, with a bit of jumping on the bed (not my idea!) and when it was time to hop into the dresses I darted over to see Ronnie get a full body uniform lint removal service from his best man Emilio! The lads were a little shady in the morning, perhaps something to do with the pre-wedding night excitement and a bottle of gin, but they looked fresh, ready to go and again, very excited. All Ronnie had to do now was fit into the rest of his uniform...
We headed over to St Mary's Church in Staverton a mile down the road for the ceremony. Bridesmaids travelled in one car whilst Emma took a ride in the other with her Dad for some last minute words of wisdom... Perfectly on time, Emma arrived to a nervously waiting Ronnie (see his face when he see's Emma in her dress) and after a couple of traditional readings from their parents and some fun from the lads in uniform - standing up and half drawing swords at the moment of objection it wasn't long before we headed through the guard of honour and were attacked by confetti!
The Reception, speeches and party
A couple of miles down the road brought us to skylark farm, a recently converted farm with amazing views over the Northampton Countryside looking towards to Cotswolds. A stylish & modern venue with fairy lights everywhere you look! Time for some more bubbles and a 'pimp your prosecco' zone before a handful of family photos and into their wedding breakfast. Unfortunately the weather wasn't too friendly so we couldn't use the grass and countryside views for the family photos however the speeches were great, everyone creasing as Ronnie summed up relationships with an unusual golfing analogy he admitted sounded better in his head and a best man's speech, both tasteful, and funny with a touch of mutual appreciation for the life him and the Groom have built for themselves. Very enjoyable!
After the meal and the speeches, Emma's dad introduced the most manly game I've ever seen. Not sure of it's name but bascially how many bricks can you lift with one hand. This guy was unreal, 7 bricks. One hand. No-one could get close, and lots of people tried. Ronnie managed about 5, I didn't even attempt it but definitely couldn't have lifted 7! Awesome first dance followed by another dance with Emma's dad which was quickly followed by a full dance floor. Love it when the party kicks off straight away! Obviously we had a few more late night shots with Ronnie & Emma under the fairy lights and a sparkler session with tonnes of sparklers. Some late night dominoes and a load more dancing made it an epic party. Good times!
