Niraj & Sonnal

Niraj & Sonnal's Wedding Short Film

A Hindu Wedding Film

Watch the film below...

The Morning

An early start on this beautiful Sunday morning at Scalford Hall Hotel. Lots going on and a schedule to stick to! Sonnal was so relaxed in the morning (not just the morning, all day in fact) excited to marry Niraj, excited to see friends and family and ready for an amazing day. I’m not sure what time Sonnal woke up but it must’ve been around or before 5am because when we arrived at 7.30 the place already had a buzz. The Jaan arrival was loud and lively, Dhol drummers and loads of dancing through the baraat and into the ceremony.

The Hindu Ceremony

Their Hindu Wedding Ceremony started around 11am and was an incredible Ceremony of music, prayer, tradition and colour. If you’re wondering who sat down first, you’ll have to ask Sonnal... After the Hindu Ceremony everyone gathered outside on the lawn for ice cream and refreshments under the 27 degree heat of the afternoon.

The Civil Ceremony

As with many Indian weddings, there was a little break in the afternoon (enough time to capture a couple of timelapses and fly the drone) before the Civil Ceremony at 3pm. Sonnal in her new dress, and Niraj in his second of three outfit changes, made everything official before the evening reception.

The Reception and Party

Surprise dancers, surprise fireworks, a live game of Mr & Mrs, a ladies Vs gents dance off and the biggest croquembouche you’ve ever seen made this a wedding no-one will forget. Watch the video and enjoy! This is how you do it…!

Chloe & Julien's Belvoir Castle Wedding

Belvoir Castle

Weddings at Belvoir Castle  are, as you would expect, exceptionally grand and incredibly opulent. The beautiful stately home sits on an estate of 15,000 acres in the heart of the English countryside and boasts some of the finest views for miles in every direction. We were recommended to Chloe and Julien by her Sister and Husband who's wedding we filmed in the Spring of 2017, also at Belvoir Castle. On this occasion we organised and coordinated both their Wedding Film and their Wedding Photography with the help of my trusted friend and fellow photographer Tom Jacques. Thanks Tom!

THE MORNING

As you'll see on the Short Film below, Chloe & Julien actually spent their morning at Stoke Rochford Hall, Julien somehow managed to spend his morning without the kids (peacefully) whilst Chloe's room was a hive of activity. Stock Rochford Hall is an insanely impressive mansion near Grantham. Once I got the Phantom 4 in the air you can actually see Belvoir Castle in the distance!

THE CEREMONY

The ceremony was held inside the Castle's Ballroom, next to the Elizabeth Saloon, floor-to-ceiling stained glass windows, chandeliers and gothic archways give it a very grand and almost fairytale like appearance. 120 guests and a vicar who loved Formula 1 (Julien's profession) made a highly entertaining ceremony with hymns and a string quartet!

THE RECEPTION

The 17th June was absolutely baking hot. No clouds, 31 degrees hot! So after the ceremony all the guests gathered in the rose garden and cooled off with free flowing bubbly. Chloe and Julien were escorted by the vicar in the Duke of Rutland's personal treasure, a 1902 renault fully restored to working order. We took a ride through the estate to enjoy the incredible weather and to get some more photos with the castle in the background before heading back for dinner in the rather majestic State Dining Room.

THE SPEECHES

Julien's father made a heartfelt speech in English, a very moving touch considering he only speaks French but wanted to make the effort on their special day. A slightly different order to the norm (which is totally fine) with the best man and Julien giving their speeches next. You'll hear some of my favourite words ever to be spoken by a Groom at the start of the Short Film below. But it was Chloe's father Phil's charismatic speech which gained the most laughs, with his quick wit and ability to banter with his daughter and new son in law he soon had the whole floor in stitches (evidence below!)

THE PARTY

The firing of the duke's canons by the Castle's cannon master was as spectacular as it sounds. Seriously loud! The evening was held in the old converted kitchen on the ground floor of the castle. You'll get an idea of the kind of party they had when you see the dancing at the end of the film!

Sarah & Mat's Hull Wedding

The Ceremony

Sarah & Matthew's ceremony was held at East Riding Registry Office. A beautifully intimate wedding with only their closest family and friends. We hadn't actually met before the wedding day, everything booked over the phone, as with some locations it's not feasible to visit the venues before the day. I left Nottingham at 7 and arrived in central Hull just after 9am, plenty of time to grab a cuppa before the ceremony at 11. Sarah arrived in a beautiful old white Rolls Royce, the one in the image above.

After the ceremony we captured a few photos in their garden before heading over to The Pipe & Glass, a 15 minute drive west.

The Reception

The Pipe and Glass is awesome, holding a Michelin Star for the past 7 years, these guys knew how to celebrate in style! Just before we got to the Pipe and Glass we took a 15 minute detour to get some lovely photos on the Dalton Estate. On arrival to the restaurant we used the amazing gardens for more photos before heading through to lunch.

The Photos

Here's a handful of my favourites from the afternoon.
